Upload at your car

  1. Save the file to your phone. On iPhone it lands in Files → Downloads.
  2. At the car, join the REVMODE-HALO Wi-Fi.
  3. Open app.revmode.co → Packs. Tap GIF 1–3 for animations or Image 1–2 for photos.
  4. Choose Browse (Files), pick your file and wait for Upload complete.

iPhone tip: pick GIFs from Files, not Photos. The Photos picker can turn a GIF into a still image.

HALO can't play MP4 or MOV files directly. Convert videos here first. GIFs upload exactly as they are, with no resizing, so they need to be 480 × 480 and under 1,000 KB before they reach the car. The screen refreshes every 25 ms, so frame delays of 50 ms or 100 ms play evenly; other delays stutter. Studio times every frame for you. Making a GIF yourself? Set each frame to 0.05 s.

The HALO app shrinks photos for you and crops them from the center. To choose the crop yourself, frame the photo here and upload the saved file. Set slideshow speed in Device → Carousel Interval.

Design for a round screen

  • Design square, think round

    Start on a square canvas. Only the circle shows; the corners are cut off by the screen.

  • Keep key details in the safe zone

    Logos and text belong inside the inner 90% circle (432 px on a 480 px design).

  • Go bold

    Thick shapes and big type read from a car length away. Skip text smaller than about 24 px and hairline strokes.

  • Use black backgrounds

    Black blends into the bezel, looks premium and keeps files small. Soft gradients band and grow file size.

  • Loop cleanly, never strobe

    Make the last frame flow into the first. Avoid flashing and red-and-blue strobe patterns: they can read as emergency lights and may be illegal where you drive.

  • Animate at 20 fps

    The screen refreshes at 40 Hz, so 20 fps shows every frame for exactly two refreshes. Faster animation can't display, and odd frame rates stutter. Export video at any rate; Studio converts it.

Design templates

Place the overlay on the top layer in Photoshop, Canva, Figma or CapCut to see exactly what shows. Hide it before you export. For video, export square 1080 × 1080 and bring it here.
